Mapping the (in)-between-(in) the Borderlands of North West Ulster:
Brian McGilloway as Literary Detective of the Here and Now.
McAllister, K & Donnelly, C. (2016) 3rd International Crime Fiction Conference, Gdansk, Poland. 14.09.16.

A conference paper and presentation given at the 3rd Internal Crime Fiction Conference at the University of Gdansk where, turning detective, the authors examined the Benedict Devlin novels of Ulster crime novelist Brian McGilloway. Critically investigating both the seemingly straightforward and the unseen lurking in the rural Ulster landscape; a place of displacement, loss and complicated histories, redolent and entwined with the ghosts of the past the authors contend that there is much to learn, not just for the borderlands of North West Ulster, but for the wider countryside and society beyond.
