The theme of Belfast Design Week 2019 was Power. As part of this week, Dr Sarah Lappin and Dr Rachel O’Grady spoke at Six by Six: Routes through Architecture organised by Aisling Rusk of Studio Idir, James Grieve of Consarc, and the Royal Society of Ulster Architects. The event took place on the 5th of November in the Governor Room at the Belfast Gasworks, and was Kindly hosted by Consarc. The event featured female architects and designers who were asked to reflect honestly on their career paths, including achievements, challenges, and the sometimes unexpected places their architectural training has taken them.

On the 4th of November, Dr Rachel O’Grady gave a talk called The Power of Small Projects at 108 North Street, the Belfast Design Week Hub as part of Blick Studios’ Share 6 design week event.
