M-NEX Local Stakeholder Workshop
News
On February 3rd, a range of local stakeholders came together to ‘future-cast’ urban agriculture in Belfast. We wanted to find out how food will shape neighbourhoods in the future. What will we eat? Where will it be grown? How will be access and pay for it? What waste streams can be reused for production? The workshop, held in collaboration with Urban Scale Interventions and held at Portview Trade Centre, aims to visualise productive neighbourhoods in the city that can grow and access health food in an equitable manner. Bringing businesses like breweries and cafes tothe conversation helps to identify where by-products and waste can be used effectively in food production cycles. Localising food production and reusing any waste we produce is an important element in reducing the impact we have on the environment.
