MArch Study Trip to Groningen
March Studio Architettura Superleggera is currently studying the rural condition in collaboration with Hanze University of Applied Sciences (HAUS). In the first semester, students examined the World Heritage site of the Lake District, mapping controversies and challenges of climate change, tourism, mobility, rewilding and food production. At the end of January, QUB students presented their research and design projects to the HAUS students on a study trip to Groningen.
In the second semester, students will design projects set in this reclaimed, agricultural and engineered landscape. It is a highly challenging context due to the threats of rising sea levels and land sinking due to gas extraction from one of the world’s largest natural gas fields.
