Summer School: Pathway Opportunity Programme

News

The Pathway Opportunity Programme (POP) is an initiative by Queen’s University Belfast. It provides a route for talented young people who live in Northern Ireland and who have the desire and ambition to study at Queen’s, giving them additional support and encouragement to reach their full potential.

The Architecture and Planning Pathway Online Summer School, coordinated by Dr Chantelle Niblock and Dr Neil Galway in June, hosted a series of exciting workshops and seminars encouraging students to re-imagine a post-pandemic life from two perspectives: planning (neighbourhood) and architecture (building). Each workshop explored a specialist topic, designed and delivered by PhD research students: Perla Mansour, Rachael Black, Emma Campbell, and Rebecca-Jane McConnell. Integrated design and drawing exercises took place throughout the week, and participants presented their fantastic ideas for Urban Regeneration and Future Homes, using observational videos, analytical plans, perspective drawings, and sketches to represent their inspirational ideas.
