ARCOM: Awards for the Common Good and Sustainability

126 papers were submitted to the 2020 ARCOM (Association of Researchers in Construction Management) conference and this year, there were 7 awards. The small Queen’s delegation were recognised in 2.

Dr Tara Brooks‘ (Lecturer, BIM and Project Management) paper co-authored with John Bruen and Michael Curran ‘The value of non-value adding activity’ won the Rod Howes Commemorative Award for the Conference Theme Common Good.

Peter Robinson and Dr Stephen McIlwaine’s (Construction and Project Management) paper, ‘Losing ground: adapting construction management approaches to permafrost retreat’ was Highly Commended in the Emerald conference prize for sustainability.

This is a fantastic achievement as this paper was developed by Peter from his MSc thesis under Stephen’s mentorship.
