Where are they now?

Marko Salopek

Marko obtained his MSc in Construction and Project Management with Distinction from QUB in 2014. Since then he worked for some of the top UK project management consultancies followed by moving to becoming in-house project manager at Battersea Power Station Development Company.

At Battersea Power Station, one of the largest urban regeneration schemes currently being undertaken in Europe, Marko managed multidisciplinary teams on different subprojects, including the new centrepiece town square and entrance to the Power Station, he engaged with stakeholders, liaised with vendors and led Malaysian supply chain participation and promotion.

After this project, Marko moved to Clarion Housing Group, one of the largest non-profit residential developers in the UK and Europe. At Clarion, Marko focuses on urban regeneration schemes – development from feasibility stage through securing planning to site works commencement.

Marko became MRICS qualified in 2016. As an LGBT property professional, Marko in his free time serves as a board member of Freehold – a networking forum for LGBT+ real estate professionals.

In 2019 Marko was shortlisted for RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Award in Project Management category. Most recently he has been shortlisted by Junior Chamber International (JCI) as one of twenty outstanding young professionals, globally.
