Project Management: Beth Wilson

Where are they now?

I graduated from BSc Architecture in 2016 and worked as a Part I Architectural assistant for 2+ years working on large projects with a strong emphasis on BIM Level 2 compliance. I chose not to pursue architecture, but because of my undergraduate degree and my experience I was accepted on to the Building Information Modelling Project Management MSc. This postgraduate degree was very beneficial, and with the in-depth information learned, a large number of avenues were opened for me.

I pursued project management and because of my BIM experience I was hired at WYG, a Tetra Tech company, as a project manager and information manager on a number interesting projects. SRC Armagh was the first BIM Level 2 compliant project in Northern Ireland and I had the privilege to be the information manager in charge of Asset Information handover.

I am currently enrolled in an ICE Law & Contracts course to become an NEC4 accredited project manager which will enable me to become lead project manager in a number of large scale projects.

Overall I am very glad to have the opportunities I have and I thank both my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees for carving my career path.
