Lecturer in Architecture, Deputy Head of Architecture
Keith McAllister is a practising Chartered Architect. As the extremely proud father of a wonderful son with autism, his particular academic research interest is in the relationship between Architecture and those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). An ongoing focus of study is trying to improve the built environment for those with ASD. This involves many strands; trying to better navigate the challenges inherent in our built environment for those with autism and reading place through the eyes of others. This includes working with teachers, parents, educational psychologists, authors and importantly, those with ASD to try and promote a genuinely more inclusive society.
